How it works

Pair each register with its terminal once, then every card sale flows automatically.

1

Turn on Tyro in Settings

Open Settings → Payments and enable the Tyro EFTPOS terminal. Enter the POS API key issued by Tyro for your merchant account.

2

Pair this device's terminal

On the terminal, open Configuration → Integrated EFTPOS → Pair. Enter your Merchant ID (MID) and Terminal ID (TID) in ZibaDesk and press Pair. Pairing is per device, so each register talks to its own terminal.

3

Choose which methods hit the terminal

Pick which payment methods (for example Card or EFTPOS) should send the total to the terminal. Cash and gift cards keep working exactly as before.

4

Ring through a sale

At checkout the full amount lands on the terminal screen. The customer taps or inserts their card, and the approved or declined result flows straight back into the sale in ZibaDesk.

What you get

Integrated EFTPOS is about accuracy at the front desk, especially on a packed Saturday.

$

The exact total, every time

The amount on the terminal is the amount on the invoice, GST included. Typos and transposed digits are gone for good.

Results flow back automatically

Approved payments complete the sale in ZibaDesk on their own. Declines and cancellations are shown instantly so the front desk always knows where the transaction stands.

Per-register pairing

Run two registers and two terminals? Each device pairs with its own terminal, so busy multi-station salons never send a payment to the wrong machine.

%

Optional card surcharging

Let the terminal add a card surcharge to the transaction if that is how your business recovers processing costs. One toggle in ZibaDesk settings.

Simulator mode for risk-free setup

Try the whole flow against Tyro's simulator before a real terminal ever arrives, so staff can practise without touching live money.

Works alongside Stripe

Keep taking online deposits and booking payments through Stripe while in-store cards go through Tyro. Every payment method lands in the same sales reports.

What you need from Tyro

A Tyro merchant account and terminal

Tyro is an Australian EFTPOS provider. You sign your merchant agreement and get your terminal directly from Tyro; ZibaDesk then connects to that terminal over your venue's network. Your card rates stay between you and Tyro.

A POS API key

Tyro issues an API key that identifies ZibaDesk as your point of sale. Enter it once in Settings → Payments. In simulator mode any value works, so you can evaluate the flow before your paperwork is finalised.

Nothing else to install

The integration is built into ZibaDesk's web POS, so it works on the same iPad, Android tablet or computer you already use at the front desk. No middleware box, no extra software.

Frequently asked

Do I need a Tyro account to use this?
Yes. The terminal and merchant facility come from Tyro directly. Once you have them, connecting ZibaDesk takes a few minutes: enable the integration, enter your API key, and pair the terminal.
Which payments are sent to the terminal?
You choose. Any payment method you nominate (typically Card or EFTPOS) sends the total to the terminal; cash, gift cards and other methods are settled in ZibaDesk as usual. Sales that mix a gift card with a card payment are settled in ZibaDesk rather than pushed to the terminal.
Can the terminal add a card surcharge?
Yes. There is a setting to let the terminal apply a surcharge to card transactions. Whether and how much you surcharge is configured with Tyro and must follow Australian surcharging rules.
What happens if the customer's card declines?
The decline comes back into ZibaDesk immediately. The sale stays open so the customer can try another card, pay another way, or cancel, and nothing is recorded until a payment actually succeeds.
What about refunds?
Refunds are recorded at the POS in ZibaDesk, and the card refund itself is processed on the Tyro terminal following Tyro's standard refund flow.
Does the POS still work if the terminal is offline?
Yes. ZibaDesk's POS keeps working (even fully offline), and you can always fall back to recording a card payment manually or taking another payment method if the terminal is unavailable.
Can I test it without a real terminal?
Yes. Switch on simulator mode and ZibaDesk connects to Tyro's hosted terminal simulator, so you can walk through pairing, payment, approval and decline scenarios with no hardware and no live money.

Faster checkout. Zero mis-keyed totals.
